Activated Carbon

Activated carbons known as activated charcoal are manufactured using coconut shell, wood or coal. These are prepared by the activation process with the help of steam and myriad of pores with large internal surface area. Our range of activated carbon granules is used in Packaging applications. These are known for superior adsorption, high density, and low attrition loss. Activated is sometimes substituted with active.

Due to its high degree of microporosity, just one gram of activated carbon has a surface area in excess of 500 m2, as determined by adsorption isotherms of carbon dioxide gas at room or 0.0 °C temperature. An activation level sufficient for the useful application may be attained solely from a high surface area; however, further chemical treatment often enhances adsorption properties. Activated carbon is usually derived from charcoal.
